Ndovu Camp
Nasikia Tarangire Ndovu Camp is located in the heart of Tarangire, Tanzania’s wild land and landscapes. Tarangire is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and a gentle backdrop of baobabs. It is the lesser visited but more intriguing park on the northern circuit. At the Ndovu Camp, there are 8-10 mobile tents established during its most busy time – from mid June thru til end of October every year. During these dry months, the massive elephant herds travel through the corridor between Manyara and Tarangire and spend their time in and around the park. This is because of their ability to uncover permanent sources of fresh water.
Each tent is 12 meters long by 4 meters wide made from well known heavy duty safari rip-stop canvas made locally in southern Tanzania, plus the additional cooling feature of shade-clothing over the entire tent.
Each tent has its own ensuites, which can be accessed directly from the bedroom with a separate doorway. Once inside, there is a bathroom stand with a ceramic wash basin with running water via stylish taps, a mirror, a supply of natural based bathroom products, and linen to suit. This area also displays a woven grass mat and clothes rack. Within this area, there are additional toilet and shower areas for privacy. Inside the toilet area is a ceramic flushing toilet, encased in a wooden frame for stability. Inside the shower area, is a stand for washing behind a shower curtain under a 20 litre PVC bucket erected on a pulley system as required. From the entrance of the bedroom and onto the bathroom, each tent is fitted with an extensive solar lighting system for your convenience.
