Mushara Outpost
The Mushara Outpost is one of the newer additions to the 2,500 hectare private Mushara reserve. With only 8 rooms, it aims to provide an intimate and luxurious base to explore Etosha.
Mushara Outpost’s stylish main area has been built in the style of an old farmhouse complete with a corrugated iron roof and large wrap-around veranda. With dark furniture, leather chairs and grand light fittings (such as quirky lampshades made from pourquipine quills) certainly makes the Outpost feel more luxurious and modern than it’s sister – Mushara Bush Camp.
A grand long table dominates the dining area, where often, (but not always), guests will dine together family style. As well as an open-air swimming pool, with comfy deck-chairs to relax around, there’s a curios shop, stocked with gifts and trinkets as well as useful things like sun-cream. They have a small hide with some chairs set up, which, although won’t usually provide any big-game sitings, it is a lovely spot for bird-lovers.
The 8 tented rooms are built using a combination of canvas, wood and glass, and raised on a spacious wooden decking. They retain the traditional safari feel, while combining a very high level of comfort. Neutral décor creates an open airy feeling whilst large glass windows and doors make the most of views over the surrounding bush. Each room has a simple wicker bedframe with either double or twin beds draped with mosquito nets
An open-plan en suite includes a spacious open shower with glass walls from floor to ceiling, bringing the outdoors inside!
Activities, much like it’s sister camps in the Mushara Collection, focus on game drives into Etosha National Park, either on a guided 4WD safari drive or in your own vehicle on a self-drive safari.
