Chada Katavi
Chada Katavi is located in south west of Tanzania and is one of the most remote and least visited parks in the country. Not because of the lack of game, quite the opposite, but because it is tricky to reach logistically and the expensive charter flight only runs twice a week, from either Arusha or Ruaha. It’s not a regular on the Tanzania safari holiday route! The tented camp is located in the trees off the main plain of Katavi National Park, which in the dry season attracts huge herds of elephant and buffalo.
The camp is spread out among the shade of trees, with views peeking through onto the plains. All the tents are slightly raised on wooden platforms and the feel of the camp is of a traditional safari camp. The main mess tent has great views onto the plains with as well as an outside dining area for evenings under the stars.
The 6 tented rooms are spread out under the canopy of trees with en suite showers and plenty of mosquito net windows giving you great views onto the plains.
The main activity here is game drives in open sided vehicles but Chada Katavi also offer game walks on the plains, as well as fly camping.
