Camp Okavango

Camp Okavango sits on the remote Nxaragha Island, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The main lodge consists of a lounge, cocktail bar, wildlife reference library, and a dining room leading onto a large deck and boma. Outside there is a sundeck, hammocks and a plunge pool, as well as a secluded hide for birdviewing.

There are eleven Safari suites and one Family suite consisting of two bedrooms and each with an en-suite bathroom. Each of the guest suites have been built on individual raised wooden platforms and set beneath the thick Okavango Delta vegetation. The en-suite bathrooms have double vanities, double shower and a separate water closet (with a view). The stack away sliding doors open onto a private open-air viewing deck offering beautiful views over the Okavango Delta.

Camp Okavango makes a good contrast to a “dry” safari camp, as it has water activities throughout the year. Guests can enjoy mokoro (dug-out canoe) and motorboat safari, as well as fishing, bush walks and bird-watching. There is less game to see here compared to many other camps but a stay here can be very worthwhile with some lovely sightings.
